Since 1 September 2025, I have been training as a Physician Assistant at Huisartsenpraktijk Tolbert. I am following the Master’s programme at Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen. Before this, I worked as a practice nurse at Huisartsenpraktijk Tolbert.

What is a Physician Assistant?

A Physician Assistant (PA) is a medical healthcare professional who independently takes over medical tasks from a medical specialist or GP. The PA works together with the GP and is authorised to perform a number of reserved procedures.

In practice, this means that she is able to hold independent consultations, perform medical procedures and prescribe medication for common medical diagnoses. Of course, she will consult with the GP or refer you to the GP if there is reason to do so.

Working days: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
