Parmila Arends
Since November 2025, I have been working at Huisartsenpraktijk Tolbert.
What does the POH-GGZ do?
The POH-GGZ is the Mental Health Practice Nurse within the GP practice.
At our GP practice, this role is fulfilled by Parmila Arends and Els van der Slikke. They work closely with the GPs in treating and supporting people with psychological and psychosocial complaints.
What kind of complaints can you discuss?
Sometimes you may experience problems in your life that affect your daily activities. These may include:
- Low mood or suspected depression
- Anxiety and tension-related complaints
- Loss and grief after the death of a loved one
- Relationship problems within the family or beyond
- Stress caused by changing life circumstances
- Sleeplessness
During a consultation with your GP, you can discuss together whether involving the POH-GGZ would be helpful. The POH-GGZ can either hold consultations with you or refer you to another form of support, such as social work, a primary care psychologist or a specialist mental healthcare institution.
Usually, five to eight consultations are sufficient to help you move forward independently again. The consultations last 40 minutes.
There are no costs for these consultations. They are part of GP care and are covered by the basic package of your health insurance. If you are referred to a mental healthcare institution or psychologist, costs are often involved, such as your excess. Please check with your health insurer which costs apply. The POH-GGZ can explain this to you in more detail.
Working day: Thursday.
